This includes Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), who serves as the committee’s chairwoman but who won’t serve in the next Congress as she lost her primary to another nearly 30-year incumbent, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY).

Maloney tried to frame Jordan’s remarks from the conference as tying the scandals involving Hunter Biden to be about former President Donald Trump potentially running again in 2024. “An investigation into Hunter Biden,” as Maloney phrased it coming from Rep. Jordan, “would quote ‘frame up the 2024 race,’ end quote for Donald Trump, explaining quote ‘we need to make sure that he wins,’ end quote.”

In reality, those remarks were made at a different part of Rep. Jordan’s conversation with Matt Schlapp at CPAC. Speaking about Hunter Biden, the congressman did lay out concerns of “suppressed evidence of the Hunter Biden story,” including when it comes to former FBI Agent Timothy Thibault.

Jordan went on to discuss how “at the same time we’ve got whistleblowers coming to our office, who tells us that they’re getting pressured to categorize and catalogue every case that they do as a ‘domestic extremism,’ ‘violent extremism,’ when in fact they’re not, and the same person doing the prime pressuring is this individual Timothy Thibault,” which the congressman said “needs to be investigated.”

Leah and Matt covered those reports over the weekend that FBI agents are in fact being pressured to do just that.

Where Trump’s potential 2024 run comes into play, moments later, is how Rep. Jordan painted a picture of several other concerns the American people have, which Trump has addressed.

“And when you couple it with what they’ve done to parents who show up at school board meetings, the political nature of our justice department, is frightening. And so that’s something, if we get the majority we need to look at, and a host of other issues, the border situation as I’ve mentioned, um, we need to look at how did thousands of Americans’ tax returns get public, that’s not supposed to happen in this great country.” It was then that Jordan went on to say “so, all these things need to be investigated just so you have the truth, plus that will help frame up the 2024 race, when I hope and I think President Trump is going to run again and we need to make sure that he wins,” to much applause from the crowd.

In speaking with Townhall, Rep. Jim Jordan offered that he and Republicans are being targeted on this “because they’ve got no, there’s no good answers as to why you wouldn’t want transparency associated with the Biden story, the Hunter Biden story,” as he pointed to how The Washington Post published stories within minutes of each back in March once it was confirmed his laptop was real. “So I think they go after Republicans because the facts aren’t good for them, so they’ve got to do something.”

Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) also referenced Jordan speaking at CPAC, though like the chairwoman, she did not provide the full context.

As Norton noted about his remarks, Rep. Jordan “said probes into Hunter Biden would, and here I’m quoting, ‘frame up the 2024 race when I hope and I think, President Trump is going to run again and we need to make sure that he wins,’ end quote.”

One can thus see from the full context of Jordan’s remarks that there is much that Maloney and Norton left out.

When it comes to the larger context of protecting Hunter Biden and the Biden family, Jordan predicted it’s because Democrats “want to keep this information from the American people, that was hidden in 2020, and it’s just how they operate.”

This is not the only time that Rep. Jordan’s words have been taken out of context. A particularly egregious example includes when Democratic members of the January 6 Select Committee doctored text messages from the congressman. They were even forced to admit, too.

Jordan does not believe his Democratic colleagues will own to and apologize for such a move this time, though. He chalked them taking him out of context to how “this is how they operate” and that “they can’t defend what they’re doing, so they gotta attack and misrepresent and mislead the country about Republicans,” with what they did during Tuesday’s hearing being “just another example.”

The House Oversight Committee ultimately rejected the ROI. Should Republicans indeed take back control of the House, though, as they are predicted to do so, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) who currently serves as the committee’s ranking member, will continue to make it not just a priority for next Congress, but “a duty to do oversight,” as Rep. Jordan assured Townhall.

“England is facing rising costs of living, a living crisis, austerity budget cuts, and so on. And then you have those who are asking for reparations for colonialism, and they’re wondering, you know, $100 billion, $24 billion here and there, $500 million there,” Lemon explained. “Some people want to be paid back, and members of the public are wondering, ‘Why are we suffering when you are, you know, you have all of this vast wealth?’ Those are legitimate concerns.”

Her response was epic. After initially giving the impression that she agreed with Lemon, she schooled him royally.

“Well, I think you’re right about reparations in terms of if people want it, though, what they need to do is you always need to go back to the beginning of a supply chain,” Fordwich replied. “Where was the beginning of the supply chain? That was in Africa, and when it crossed the entire world, when slavery was taking place, which was the first nation in the world that abolished slavery? The first nation world to abolish it, it was started by William Wilberforce, was the British. In Great Britain, they abolished slavery.”

She continued, “Two thousand naval men died on the high seas trying to stop slavery. Why? Because the African kings were rounding up their own people, they had them on cages waiting in the beaches. No one was running into Africa to get them. And I think you’re totally right.”

The look on Lemon’s face was priceless. Fordwich succeeded in agreeing with him, although for different reasons than he was obviously suggesting. And she wasn’t done with the lesson.

“If reparations need to be paid, we need to go right back to the beginning of that supply chain and say, ‘Who was rounding up their own people and having them handcuffed in cages?’ Absolutely. That’s where they should start. And maybe, I don’t know, the descendants of those families where they died at the, in the high seas trying to stop the slavery, that those families should receive something too, I think, at the same time.”

After she was done, Lemon sat there, stunned for several seconds, before responding, “It’s an interesting discussion, Hillary, Thank you very much, I appreciate it.”

I could watch that over and over. No wonder he’s been demoted.

Twelve were caught in August alone, the second highest monthly total since numbers began to be released earlier this year.

The new numbers represent a sharp increase as the Biden administration faces growing pressure to tighten security at the border: Just 15 suspected terrorists were caught in all of the fiscal year 2021, and just 11 were caught in total from 2017 to 2020.

Counterintuitively, catching more of those on the watch list is bad news, because it likely means more are getting through, border experts say.

“Those are the ones that Border Patrol put their hands on,” Rodney Scott, former chief of the Border Patrol, told The Washington Times in an interview earlier this summer.

He said those who are caught generally did not know that they are on the U.S. security radar. Those who are aware are being brought in by smuggling organizations who are taking advantage of the gaps caused by the current level of border chaos.

“Anybody who actually knows or has a fear they’re on the watch list, they’re coming through those gaps and holes,” Mr. Scott said.

He said the numbers being caught are more than warning signs. “Those are rocket flashes going on to wake people up,” he said.

The 78 people detained were all listed in the Terrorist Screening Database, the government’s main terrorism watch list. It includes known or suspected terrorists and those known to associate with them.

The issue of terrorists on the southern border has been heatedly debated.

That single word — “coyotes” — brought to light how many progressives with such strong, idealistic views on the migrant situation actually know very little about what’s going on. They flocked to Twitter to attempt to mock Trump, thinking he was referring to the actual animal.

“How the hell does a coyote bring a whole human across the border?! Lord—–stop talking,” declared Democratic Georgia state Rep. Dar’shun Kendrick.

It was clear that when it comes to the lives of people seeking refuge, progressives only entertain the veneer of the issue, with feel-good slogans, simplistic solutions for complicated matters and wishful outcomes based on fantasy-driven advocacy.

Martha’s Vineyard, a progressive elite safe haven, has been confronted with a fraction of the reality of the crisis and forced to momentarily leave the fantasy behind by asking itself the same question border states have been for years: How do we manage these people?

The sanctuary for many millionaires and billionaires was given the opportunity to act on its progressivism by becoming a sanctuary for the deprived.

Instead, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ scheme to send people who’ve crossed our borders to Martha’s Vineyard became the stick that slammed into the elite’s hornet nest as progressive politicians and pundits attempted to sting back with rhetoric claiming flying migrants between states is immoral.

These same people had nothing to say, of course, when President Biden started flying migrant children from border states to New York state in the dead of night a year ago. Soledad O’Brien ironically called DeSantis’ “disgusting” flights “human trafficking” without realizing the method many of these people use to make it to our borders is a human trafficker.

If one of the wealthiest places in America can’t find a way to house 50 people, then what chance does any border town or neighboring city have? What do progressives think happens to these people when they cross the border?

In fact, many progressives have little to no remote idea what these people go through to make it to our borders or even what happens to them afterward.

They’re overlooking the existence of an entire industry that bankrolls cartels to traffic human beings to our borders. Women and children pay cartel members to be trafficked, and they can end up being sex-trafficked even beyond our borders.

There’s a reason Immigration and Customs Enforcement is highly involved in preventing sex trafficking: It’s a highly prevalent risk for people seeking a better life.

Progressives don’t want to understand that living a life as an illegal immigrant is highly dangerous. They’re known to not report crimes like theft, assault and rape because of potential deportation. They live their lives in the shadows of American society for years or even decades with the possibility that one slip-up will mean losing everything and being sent back to the place they left.

Progressives believe most of the people crossing our borders are valid asylum seekers who should be able to stay in the safety of the United States rather than remain in Mexico. The truth is that during fiscal year 2020, 73.7% of asylum claims were denied.

Progressives think only people from Mexico and Central America are coming over our borders. The truth is there’s a huge industry of trafficking of people from all over the world. It’s the reason a 6-year-old girl from India was found dead at our border in 2019. In 2021, Border Patrol agents famously attempted to apprehend Haitian immigrants at the Texas border.

What’s happening at our southern border is a real crisis; the solution isn’t to put on rosy glasses and hope for the best. With 2 million people crossing in the last fiscal year alone, this issue isn’t going away — it will only exacerbate as federal immigration policy doesn’t change.

Democratic politicians have been able to wave a flag of emotional support from a thousand miles away while border and neighboring states struggle to manage the disaster. The Biden administration will always implore Americans to exert an excessive amount of empathy but never explain why.

Why should American citizens accept the status quo of border failure? Why should we pretend that people aren’t being taken advantage of by an entire trafficking industry?

Democrats used to understand the national-security risk of failing to secure our borders, but they’ve thrown it aside for faux progressive empathy. They may learn their lesson — when it’s too late.

In response to Biden’s declaration, Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) tweeted, “If ‘the pandemic is over’ as Biden says, then all of the president’s emergency powers predicated on a pandemic, all COVID vax mandates, the emergency powers of every governor, emergency use authorizations, and the PREP act should all be voided tomorrow.”

Similarly, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) tweeted, “Biden admitted last night that the COVID pandemic is over. In other words, there is no ‘ongoing emergency’ to justify his proposal for student loan handouts.”

Biden’s statement has also been questioned by his own side of the aisle, and many in his administration are attempting to temper his remarks.

The Washington Post reports that “Biden’s remarks caught some senior officials off guard.” Anonymous administration officials told the Post they were concerned the president’s statement would make it harder for the administration to persuade Americans to get shots or secure new money from Congress. The White House is seeking an additional $22 billion from Congress to fight the pandemic, according to the New York Times.

“When you have the president of the U.S. saying the pandemic is over, why would people line up for their boosters? Why would Congress allocate additional funding for these other strategies and tools?” said Dr. Celine Gounder, an epidemiologist and senior fellow with the Kaiser Family Foundation. “I am profoundly disappointed. I think this is a real lack of leadership.”

CNN reports it was told by an administration official that “the President’s comments do not mark a change in policy toward the administration’s handling of the virus, and there are no plans to lift the Public Health Emergency, which has been in place since January 2020 and is currently extended through October 13.”

The CDC no longer recommends unvaccinated people quarantine after exposure, reports Reuters. Around 95% of the U.S. population has either been vaccinated, had COVID-19 already, or both, according to the CDC.

Lindsey Graham makes this compelling argument in his writing for Fox News on Thursday.

“If COVID-19 had come about due to a Chinese lab leak, the top question on voters’ minds in the 2020 election would have become who was going to stand up to China. 

Which candidate would hold the Chinese accountable for unleashing the COVID-19 plague on the world?”

Likely we would have the President we all voted for. 

I certainly believe President Trump was the true winner in the 2020 election but that is a different story for a different day.  

Had the media not incessantly blamed Trump for the virus and spread, today we would have a much a weaker China, stronger economy and better country. 

  “Americans would have demanded a tougher line against the Chinese communist regime and would have been looking for a Commander in Chief to lead the charge,” and  “there is no doubt in my mind this would have benefitted President Trump much more than Joe Biden.”

“However, instead of validating President Trump’s concerns, the scientists’ early dismissal created a narrative that President Trump was out of touch and spreading right-wing conspiracy theories,” said Graham.

“It was narrative that the elite media, who hated President Trump with a burning passion, was only too happy to help spread.”

The media repeatedly highlighted the number of virus deaths and case reports during the election, scrutinizing President Trump’s handling of the pandemic daily. 

“If it were known in February that Trump was right [in] 2020, I think he’d be president today,” Graham told Fox News on Wednesday night. 

The US intelligence officials have also recernyl come out in support of Trump’s statements regarding the WuHan Lab. 

Again my question remains, who will be held responsible for this? 

We have a president most Americans did not vote for. 

A president who sides with China. 

And a former President who was further pushed out of office for true statements about the communist China regime and their despicable actions. Actions leading to a global pandemic and loss of free and fair elections in the United States.
